Hugh Hefner, 86, married fiancee Crystal Harris, 26, in front of family and a few close friends at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles on Monday, the magazine publisher confirmed on Twitter.

"Crystal & I married on New Year's Eve in the Mansion with Keith as my Best Man. Love that girl!" he tweeted early New Year's Day.

The bride wore ... clothes!

Her gown was a floor-length strapless piece in soft pink. The groom wore a traditional black tuxedo, Playboy Enterprises said in a statement.

After the ceremony came a private reception with a champagne toast and the bride and groom cut the wedding cake.

The newlyweds then attended the Mansion's annual New Year's Eve celebration and enjoyed a performance by jazz and blues singer Brenna Whitaker.

Guests included Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts, 2005 Playmate of the Year Tiffany Fallon, baseball player Evan Longoria, rocker Gene Simmons and wife Shannon Tweed, and Jon Lovitz.

It was a far cry from the pair's last attempt at marriage. Five days before their planned June 2011 wedding in front of 300 guests, the nuptials were scuttled when Harris got cold feet; then she made some desultory remarks about his romantic capabilities, and he publicly whined about his broken heart.

Harris, who appeared on the July 2011 cover of the adult magazine with a "runaway bride" sticker covering her bottom half, tweeted on Monday that she was ready to commit and changed her name to "Crystal Hefner."

"Today is the day I become Mrs. Hugh Hefner," Harris, who has a psychology degree, wrote on Twitter. "Feeling very happy, lucky, and blessed."

The San Diego native, whose parents are British, said she asked for Christmas ornaments rather than lingerie at her pre-Christmas bridal shower to help decorate Hefner's famed mansion. We don't think anyone needs to psychoanalyze that one.

Hefner, founder of the Playboy adult entertainment empire, has been married twice before. He and his second wife Kimberley Conrad, also a former Playmate, divorced in 2010 after a lengthy separation. His first marriage to Mildred Williams ended in divorce in 1959. He has two children from each marriage.
