Ola Ray, who played Michael Jackson's girlfriend in his iconic "Thriller" video, settled a long-simmering royalties dispute with the singer's estate last year for $75,000.

According to TMZ, the former Playboy Playmate received $55,000 of the payout, with the rest going to her attorney.

Ray sued Jackson's estate in May 2009, just a month before the pop icon died, claiming she was owed unpaid royalties for the video. In other words, her career was going really well.

The actress-model said for years that she was not compensated much for the John Landis-directed video, released in 1983. What really must have steamed her is how hardly anyone saw it and she didn't get hardly any exposure.

"Everyone thinks I made millions," she told the U.K.'s Sunday Mirror in late 2008. "But I don't care ... I wouldn't change a thing."

Then why was she asking for more money?

Landis also filed a lawsuit against the estate over profits from the video. In August of last year, the estate told the Hollywood Reporter it had reached a settlement with Landis. Though the terms of the deal have remained confidential, Landis and producer George Folsey Jr. had alleged they were owed $2.3 million.

NAOMI CAMPBELL ROUGHED UP IN PARIS: Naomi Campbell was allegedly mugged in Paris last month.

According to E! Online, the British supermodel was accosted and injured by a group of men while trying to hail a cab in Paris just before Christmas.

The New York Post reported the 42-year-old Campbell tore a ligament in her leg after she was "knocked over and robbed" by the thugs, a fact apparently borne out by photos that have popped up showing her in crutches and in a wheelchair over the last couple of weeks.

No word on what the muggers stole. The model's billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, reportedly flew her to Vail, Colo., to be treated by an orthopedic surgeon there and has increased the security around her.

While the Post reported French police were investigating the matter, a source with authorities in Paris told the U.K.'s Daily Mail that law enforcement has no official report of the crime.

"If such a serious crime had taken place then a criminal inquiry would have started by now, especially if the victim ended up in a wheelchair," a police source told the paper.

Sounds like someone is hiding something. Where was Spencer Pratt that night?

Campbell told the New York Post very little, other than to say she's "fine."

When it comes to violence, Campbell is usually on the dispensing end. In 2007 she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault for hurling a cell phone at her maid's head.

Campbell is now said to be vacationing in Miami, where she's preparing for the premiere of her new Oxygen design competition show "The Face."

FRANK OCEAN BUSTED TWICE: Grammy-nominated R&B singer Frank Ocean has temporarily lost his driver's license and faces a charge of marijuana possession after being pulled over twice in the final two days of 2012 in California's Eastern Sierra Nevada for driving more than 90 mph in 65 mph zones.

Was he listening to Sammy Hagar? Sometimes that makes people drive too fast.

The Mono County Sheriff's Department said officers first stopped Ocean's black BMW on Dec. 30 as he was heading northbound on U.S. 395 near Keoughs. At that time, Ocean was cited for speeding.

The singer was pulled over again New Year's Eve at about 4:30 p.m. as he was heading southbound on U.S. 395 at about the same speed.

Maybe there's a problem with that road.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Jennifer Hansen said the second time, the deputy smelled marijuana while approaching the vehicle. Hansen said the deputy found a small bag of marijuana on the 25-year-old Ocean, whose legal name is Christopher Edwin Breaux. He was cited for marijuana possession.

California Highway Patrol Sgt. Andrew Thompson said a CHP officer also gave the Beverly Hills resident a verbal warning about his speed and cited Ocean for driving with a suspended driver's license and having tinted front windows. Ocean's license was confiscated and a passenger who was traveling with the singer was allowed to drive the vehicle away, Thompson said.

Hopefully it wasn't Sammy Hagar.

Ocean's representative Heathcliff Berru declined to comment.

ARIEL WINTER GOING TO SCHOOL FOR FIRST TIME: "Modern Family" star Ariel Winter is going to school.

Which is kind of a big deal, since it will be the first time.

The 14-year-old is enrolled in a private high school in the Los Angeles area, and will start attending classes later this month, according to TMZ. Up until now, the child star has always been privately tutored.

It's another big chance in the girl's life, since a judge took guardianship over her away from her mother Chrystal Workman last fall. Ariel is currently in the care of her older sister, after allegations of emotional and physical abuse were made against Workman.

TMZ quoted sources as saying hat producers of "Modern Family" are "thrilled" and will happily schedule shoots around the girl's classes. Of course they're thrilled. They used to allegedly have to sneak her food on the set when her mother didn't let her eat.

So ... food, high school ... things are looking up.

The website said Ariel has been "flourishing" in her sister Shanelle Gray's home, where the rules are strict. Sources said Ariel's happier than ever, and producers have noticed a big, positive change in her mood.

Ariel's attorney and father now have control over her considerable finances -- she earns $75,000 per episode -- as per an agreement hammered out last month.

MILEY CYRUS STILL WEARING HUGE RING: Miley Cyrus is trying to send us a message, you guys.

Or is she?

Because some of us wait around all day, refreshing Twitter hundreds of times in case she wants to show us another new puppy -- YES, SCORE! -- Miley fans couldn't help but notice Friday that she's still wearing what seems to be an asteroid-sized diamond ring on the finger we're pretty sure a girl once said is where a wedding band is supposed to go.

The 20-year-old shared a photo of her new puppy Bean (Awwwwww! :)), and we couldn't help but notice the two new diamond bands surrounding her 3.5-carat diamond engagement ring.

OMG!

Rumors that Cyrus has secretly tied the knot with fiance Liam Hemsworth began last week, after he, too, was seen wearing a band on his ring finger.

OMG!

Given that Cyrus is typically vocal about shutting down rumors, the fact that she hasn't said anything about rumblings that she's secretly married speaks volumes, according to the Huffington Post, who obviously has enough women working for it to know these things.

The website's requests for comment from Cyrus' rep were not immediately returned.
