Virgin America adds Austin, Alaska flights
Virgin America soon will fly daily from San Francisco International Airport to Texas' high-tech capital, Austin, and add seasonal service to Anchorage, Alaska.
Daily nonstops to Austin will start May 21. The outbound flight will leave SFO at 10:15 a.m. and arrive in Austin at 3:35 p.m. On the return, travelers will leave "Silicon Hills" at 5 p.m. and land in the Bay Area at 7 p.m., the Burlingame-based carrier said.
Seasonal flights to Alaska will operate six days a week from June 6 to Sept. 9, with an 8 p.m. departure (daily except Tuesdays) and an 11:55 p.m. arrival at Anchorage. The return flight

New look for American's fleet; uniforms are next
American Airlines has unveiled a new logo and livery, featuring a silver mica color for its planes and red, white and blue stripes on the tails.
The airline also announced that new crew uniforms will be created by the same designers who made dresses for celebrities such as Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Halle Berry. Designers Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco have been hired to make the newest uniforms for the airline in more than 20 years.

Spain's Alcorcon picked for EuroVegas resort
Las Vegas Sands casinos and Madrid officials have chosen the town of Alcorcon on the outskirts of the Spanish capital as the site for the multibillion-dollar "EuroVegas" casino project, which authorities hope will bring much-needed jobs and investment to the recession-wracked country.
Madrid regional government president Ignacio Gonzalez said work on the first of three phases would begin this year and be completed by 2017.
The entire project, initially comprising 12 hotels and six casinos, is to be finished by 2023.

Gabby Douglas donates Games gear to museum
Olympic gymnast Gabrielle Douglas' memorabilia and personal items have gone on display at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Douglas won Olympic gold at age 16 in the 2012 London Games -- the first African-American woman to win gold in the individual all-around competition.
On view now are her Olympic credentials, personal photos, uneven bar grips and wrist tape, as well as the leotard she wore during her first competitive season in 2003.
