OAKLAND -- Motorists and bus riders beware. There will be temporary street closures to clear the way for Sunday's Oakland Running Festival.

The festival is expected to draw about 10,000 runners in several races including a 26-mile marathon, a half marathon, 5 kilometer run, four-person relay and a fun run for kids.

The festival runs from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closing streets including Broadway, Telegraph Avenue, 14th Street, Harrison and 19th Street.

In addition to much of downtown, the marathon course will take runners through Broadway Auto Row, Piedmont Avenue, Temescal, Rockridge, Upper Rockridge, Fernwood, Montclair, Oakmore/Upper Park, Dimond, Fruitvale, San Antonio, Eastlake, West Oakland, Northgate and Lake Merritt.

Bus services will be delayed and detoured to the outer edges of the running routes until the festival is over. There will be a free shuttle bus that will loop from West Grand Avenue to a temporary transit stop on 14th and Castro streets.
