THE STAT LINE: Donato placed fourth (4-2) in the 120-pound division at the California Interscholastic Federation state tournament. His two losses were by a pin in overtime of a semifinal match and by one point in the third-place match.

Siaan Rojas

SCHOOL: Concord

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Guard

THE STAT LINE: Rojas led the Minutemen in scoring with 20 points as they stunned No. 1-seeded Montgomery 54-49 in overtime in the NCS Division II semifinals. He also had 19 points as Concord nearly upset No. 2 Newark Memorial before it lost 74-70 in its first trip to the NCS title game.

Sierra Dixon

SCHOOL: Deer Valley

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Guard

THE STAT LINE: With accurate shooting and strong defense, Dixon led the fourth-seeded Wolverines to the NCS Division I title. She scored 24 points as Deer Valley beat No. 1 seed Monte Vista 65-57 in the semifinals, then had 15 points in a 57-47 win over No. 2 Berkeley in the championship game.

Da'Ja'Nay Powell

SCHOOL: McClymonds

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Center

THE STAT LINE: Powell had 24 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks as the Warriors won the Oakland Section championship game 57-21 over Skyline. She also had 26 points and 19 rebounds in a 67-66 semifinal win over Oakland Tech.

BOYS

DEION ELLIS, McClymonds, basketball, Sr. -- Ellis had 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Warriors beat Fremont 64-52 for their third straight Oakland Section title.

TOMMY YOZZO, Amador Valley, wrestling, Sr. -- Yozzo became the first state medalist in school history when he took seventh place at 132 pounds at the CIF state championships.

GIRLS

CHRISTINA CHENAULT, Carondelet, basketball, Jr. -- Two of the forward's best games of the season helped Carondelet win a third consecutive NCS Division II title. She had 14 points, 10 rebounds, eight steals and seven assists against Dublin in the semifinals. In the championship game, a 100-48 win over Clayton Valley Charter, Chenault had 22 points and eight rebounds.

MA'ANE MOSLEY, St. Mary's, basketball, Jr. -- Mosley scored 20 points as the Panthers defeated Salesian 65-57 in the NCS Division IV championship game. She also had 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals in a 77-40 semifinal win over Justin-Siena.
