HAYWARD — Multiple shooters may have been involved in a gunfight outside the Hayward BART station Monday evening that left four people injured, including an AC Transit bus driver, Bay Area Rapid Transit spokesman Linton Johnson said today.

No motive has been established for the shooting, but police are questioning one suspect in custody at the Hayward police station, Linton said.

An AC Transit bus driver who suffered a wound to the left side of his rib cage was taken to Eden Medical Center for treatment, an Alameda County Transportation Authority spokesman reported. Three others were hospitalized and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting, which was reported at 5:48 p.m. Monday, closed the downtown Hayward BART station for nearly two hours as police investigated the incident.
