CASTRO VALLEY — Many young girls dream of becoming Cinderella, the Disney heroine who overcomes adversity to meet Prince Charming.

Katie Robbins' dream came true.

A seventh-grader at Castro Valley's Creekside Middle School, Katie will bring Cinderella to life in the Neighborhood Youth Theater musical based on the animated film.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Neighborhood Church, also known as the ''Church of the Three Crosses,'' 20600 John Drive.

Tickets are $5 at the door.

"Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," which won an Oscar for Best Song, and "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" are among the songs from the 1950 film to be performed by second- through eighth-grade students in the cast.

The young entertainers hail from Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro, Livermore and Foster City, and portray characters including the wicked stepmother and stepsisters, Cinderella's fairy godmother and the mice.
