CONCORD -- The Grant High boys basketball team took control late in the fourth quarter to upset second-seeded Concord 66-58 on Saturday in the second round of the CIF Division II Northern regional playoffs.

In a game characterized by sloppy play, No. 7 Grant (27-6) limited its mistakes in the early going and led 18-15 after the first quarter. But Concord senior forward Jamil Lea scored eight of his 10 points in the second quarter to give the host Minutemen a 32-29 advantage at halftime.

Grant 6-foot-8 senior forward Cameron Oliver scored eight of his 21 points in the third quarter, including a couple rim-shaking dunks to help the Pacers take a 46-44 lead heading into the final eight minutes.

Concord (22-9) quickly went on a 7-0 run to start the final frame with buckets from Daniel Solis and Siaan Rojas, and looked to be pulling away. But the Minutemen committed too many costly turnovers down the stretch.

Donovan Brown's teardrop floater with 2:26 left in the game gave the Pacers a 56-55 lead and was part of a 14-3 run to close the contest. Jeremee Churchill's breakaway dunk with 36 seconds left sealed the game for the Pacers, who now advance to the Division II regional semifinals at Cosumnes Oaks-Elk Grove.

Dru Solis led Concord with 16 points. Daniel Solis added 14.
