Danville: Museum exhibit covers Japanese internment

A profound example of a limited footprint that makes a giant-sized imprint can be found now through May 15 at a striking exhibit, "Art of Survival," at the Museum of the San Ramon Valley. The artifacts and photographs tucked into the cozy museum display a dark period in U.S. history, when President Roosevelt on Feb. 19, 1942, signed Executive Order No. 9066. 
The Sunol-Ohlone Regional Wilderness will celebrate the season with its annual Spring Wildflower Festival, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. There's also a 2-mile wildflower walk from 2 to 4:30 p.m. April 10 at Tilden Nature Area near Berkeley, guided by naturalist Trent Pearce.

Dublin residents are petitioning against the construction of a new Ikea, which they believe will create traffic nightmares.  
 
The Dublin City Council on Tuesday moved toward increasing its pay to $1,099 from $904 a month.

Hailed as the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers, Tammy Ma, who works on the National Ignition Facility at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, was one of 105 people in the country to receive the award.
