DUBLIN -- The city is seeking artists to create public art projects for a new recreation and aquatics center -- as well as three local residents for a panel to help pick artists for the jobs.

Individual artists or teams are invited to apply for paid commissions to create public art projects for the Emerald Glen Park recreation and aquatic center, which is expected to open in late 2015.

Potential artists or art selection committee members may receive applications by e-mailing glentheguide@dublin.ca.gov or calling the Parks and Community Services Department at 925-556-4500.

The deadline for artists to apply is 5 p.m. Dec. 6.

Meanwhile, the city has set 5 p.m. Dec. 2 as the deadline for Dublin residents to apply to serve on the art selection committee.

A description of the project can be downloaded from www.ci.dublin.ca.us/.
