SAN MATEO, Calif. -- A former San Mateo high school swimming coach has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from an alleged sexual relationship with a female student.
The San Mateo Daily Journal reports (http://bit.ly/Sv5IZz) that 25-year-old Joshua David Tatro entered the plea on Wednesday to six felony counts, including sending harmful matter with an intent to seduce and communicating with a minor to set up a lewd act.
He is scheduled to go on trial on Jan. 7.
Authorities say Tatro and a 17-year-old water polo player at Aragon High School were in a relationship between October 2011 and May 2012. Tatro was a water polo and swim coach at the school.
He was arrested in June after police were contacted by school officials. The school has not hired him back.
