Two political action committees, both fueled by money from charter-school backers, are funding school board campaigns in Santa Clara County. The Santa Clara County Schools PAC is working for David Neighbors and against incumbent Anna Song in Trustee Area 5 of the Santa Clara County Board of Education. The PAC is also working for incumbent Grace Mah for the county board's Trustee Area 1.
The Parents for Great Schools PAC has contributed to the campaigns of Magdalena Carrasco for East Side Union High School board, and to Leland Lowe and Karen Martinez for the Alum Rock Union School District board.
