The Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation has selected 12 Pleasanton school district students to receive funding for their Student Grant projects:
Jamie Altman, Amador Valley High School, $350, journalism, class newspaper. Funds will provide software to produce a more attractive and interesting newspaper.
David Bendebury, Foothill High School, $200, Science Olympiad Club. Funding will provide materials and supplies for the nationwide Science Olympiad competition.
Kevin Chen, Amador Valley High School, $270, Robotics Club. Funding will provide support to enter the college robotics competition
Chloe Connolly, Foothill High School, $200, Mock Trial Program. Funding will buy materials to support the mock trial extracurricular program helping students to improve their public speaking skills and learn more about civics, law and government
Beverly Fu, Amador Valley High School, $270, Science for Youth. Funding will provide support for the club's objective to promote the public youth's interest, literacy and joy in science
Liz Veronica Guevara, Horizon High School, $250, Leadership Funds. Funding will provide materials and supplies for student character education and recognition
Saba Hosseinzadeh, Amador Valley High School, $250, Students Interested in Medical Sciences Club. Funding will purchase materials and supplies for college
George Huang, Harvest Park Middle School, $350, Science Olympiad. Funding will provided support for lab equipment and team registration fees for the club promoting the exploration and expansion of scientific knowledge.
Rick Huang, Amador Valley High School, $150, Pleasanton Linguistics Tournament. Funding will provide materials for preparation for tournaments promoting linguistics and logic.
Roland Huang, Foothill High School, $110, Math Team (Mu Alpha Theta). Funding will provide competition fees
Kelly McDeavitt, Foothill High School, $100, Writers Club Contest. Funding will support the schoolwide writing contest held by the Writer's Club.
Omar Sajjad, Foothill High School, $500, Foothill Buddies. Funding will provide supplies for schoolwide program that provides students the opportunity to build strong friendships with special-needs students
