DUBLIN -- People can shop while hearing a free "Dublin Idol" competition for young singers at 5 p.m. May 16 and 30 at the Dublin Farmer's Market at Emerald Glen Park, 4201 Central Parkway.

A stage will be set up at the market for Dublin students in fifth through 12th grades to compete for cash prizes in the "Dublin Idol" event. May 16 is the preliminary round and May 30 is the final.

People who ride their bike to the market on May 16 are eligible to get a $5 "carrot cash" certificate to spend at the market that evening. A booth will be sent up to hand out the certificates.

The Dublin farmers market is held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
