"Dinner for Schmucks" kills an awful lot of time getting around to its titular dinner. It takes a leisurely gambol up to the party in which a bunch of arrogant rich twits each brings a dolt to dinner so that they can mock them. But like a four-star desert at the end of a hit-or-miss four-course meal, the finale is worth the wait.

When "Crackdown" was released, the big joke was that it sold more for its "Halo 3" beta access than the actual disc inside. The anticipation for Bungie's next-Gen game was so intense that some assumed it would overshadow Realtime Worlds' open-world game.
But then we must understand this project for what it is, a mainstream star vehicle for a matinee idol who sets teen hearts aflutter. "Charlie St. Cloud" will have them snapping in the breeze like so many spinnakers. The rest of us will be a little seasick.
