BACK FROM THE DREAD

The Giants can become just eighth major league team to win a best-of-5 playoff series after trailing 2-0. But they will become only the second team to come back after losing the first two at home. The New York Yankees managed the same trick in 2001 against the A's, but that was in a 2-2-1 format, and the Yankees won Game 5 at home.

  • 2003 Red Sox: Came back to beat A's in ALDS

  • 2001 Yankees: Came back to beat A's in ALDS

  • 1999 Red Sox: Came back to beat Indians in ALDS

  • 1995 Mariners: Came back to beat Yankees in ALDS

  • 1984 Padres: Came back to beat Cubs in NLCS

  • 1982 Brewers: Came back to beat Angels in ALCS

  • 1981 Dodgers: Came back to beat Astros in division series*.
