Last year: Kyle Stanley rebounded from a devastating loss at Torrey Pines with a victory. He beat Ben Crane by a stroke, overcoming an eight-stroke deficit with a final-round 65. The previous week in San Diego, Stanley made a triple-bogey 8 on the final hole and lost a playoff to Brandt Snedeker. Spencer Levin, six strokes ahead entering play Sunday at TPC Scottsdale, had a 75 to finish third, two strokes back.

Last week: Tiger Woods won the fog-delayed Farmers Insurance Open on Monday at Torrey Pines in San Diego, finishing with a four-stroke victory. Woods won the tournament for the seventh time, and set a PGA Tour record by winning at Torrey Pines for the eighth time, including his 2008 U.S. Open. Woods also has won seven times at Bay Hill and Firestone. He has 75 PGA Tour victories, seven behind the record held by Sam Snead.

Notes: Phil Mickelson is in the field along with Masters champion Bubba Watson and FedEx Cup winner Snedeker. Mickelson won the event in 1996 and 2005. In 2005, the former Arizona State star shot a 60 in the second round en route to a five-stroke victory. He tied for 51st at Torrey Pines after opening the season with a tie for 37th in the Humana Challenge ... The tour will be in California the next two weeks for the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and Northern Trust Open at Riviera.
