Last year: Ted Potter Jr. won his first tour title, beating Troy Kelly with a birdie on the third hole of a playoff.

Last week: Bill Haas won the AT&T National at Congressional for his fifth tour title, closing with a 5-under 66 for a three-shot victory over Roberto Castro.

Notes: Phil Mickelson is making his first start since tying for second three weeks ago in the U.S. Open at Merion (Pa.). ... Haas and Champions Tour players Tom Watson and Kenny Perry also are in the field. Watson is Greenbrier's golf professional emeritus. Perry won the Senior Players Championship on Sunday at Fox Chapel (Pa.). ... Tour victory leader Sam Snead was Greenbrier's pro for 29 years and served as professional emeritus from 1993 until his death in 2002. ... Cal star Michael Kim, the Haskins Awards winner as the college player of the year, received a sponsor exemption.
