CASTRO VALLEY -- Peter Mitchell ran for 127 yards and one touchdown as the visiting Acalanes High football team earned a 13-7 nonleague win over Castro Valley on Friday.

Jared Finney put Acalanes ahead with a 3-yard run at 8:45 of the second quarter. Still leading 7-0 at halftime, the Dons (2-0) recovered a fumble of the second-half kickoff and marched 48 yards in five plays. Mitchell's 16-yard run capped the drive for a 13-0 lead.

Castro Valley (1-1) tried to make a game of it late in the contest thanks to the passing of Kevin Galvan and the running of Demeryah Lane, who scored from 1 yard out with 2:13 left.

Cristo Collett gobbled up the ensuing onside kick for Acalanes. Two Mitchell runs netted a first down, allowing the Dons to run out the clock after three additional snaps.

Casey Harrington passed for 105 yards and rushed for 58 more for Acalanes.

For the Trojans, Lane ran for 81 yard on 14 carries. Galvan passed for 155 yards, 64 of them on his team's scoring drive.
