THE STAT LINE: Diew scored a game-high 28 points, including the winning basket with 4 seconds left in overtime, as the Jayhawks beat Bentley 66-64 in the Bay Counties League-East playoff championship game. He also had 17 points in Head-Royce's 69-44 victory over Athenian in the semifinals. Diew was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Nzuzi Webster

SCHOOL: Deer Valley

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Guard

THE STAT LINE: Webster scored 25 points in an 85-78 win over Freedom that clinched the Bay Valley Athletic League title for the Wolverines. Webster also had nine points in Deer Valley's 69-55 win over Liberty.

Kayla Frierson

SCHOOL: Valley Christian

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Sophomore

POSITION: Forward

THE STAT LINE: Frierson led the Vikings in scoring in the BCL-East playoffs, where she was named the MVP. She scored 13 points against College Prep and had 17 points and seven rebounds against Head-Royce in the championship.

Lucia Lecce

SCHOOL: St. Mary's

SPORT: Soccer

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Goalkeeper

THE STAT LINE: Lecce had 10 saves in regulation, four in overtime and two in a shootout as the 13th-seeded Panthers upset No. 4 Miramonte in the first round of the North Coast Section Division II playoffs. She also had 10 saves in regulation, three in overtime and two in a shootout in St. Mary's quarterfinal victory over No. 12 Albany.

CHRIS CONTRERAS, Freedom, soccer, Sr. -- Contreras posted two shutouts in the NCS Division I playoffs against No. 5 Berkeley (3-0) and No. 4 Pittsburg (2-0). He had a combined 21 saves in the two matches.

OSCAR FRAYER, Moreau Catholic, basketball, Fr. -- The 6-foot-61/2 Frayer had a triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in the Mariners' 62-48 win over American. He also had 11 points in a 59-47 victory over Mission San Jose.

GIRLS

EMILY ORWIG, Campolindo, soccer, Jr. -- In two NCS Division II playoff games for the Cougars, Orwig had two goals in a 8-0 victory over Hercules and a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Acalanes.

LONDON ROBINSON, Oakland Tech, basketball, Sr. -- In the Bulldogs' wins over Castlemont (78-46) and Oakland (61-40), Robinson had a combined 41 points, 18 rebounds and six assists.
