THE STAT LINE: The Kentucky-bound big man and McDonald's All-American had one of his finest games of the season in a 83-69 victory over Freedom in the Division I Northern California regional quarterfinals. Lee scored 30 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and blocked eight shots to give the Wolverines a third win over Freedom.

Temidayo Yussuf

SCHOOL: St. Joseph Notre Dame

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Center

THE STAT LINE: Yussuf had 24 points for the top-seeded Pilots, who won the North Coast Section Division V championship, in their 65-40 win over Liberty Christian-Redding in the second round of the NorCal Division V playoffs.

Ashley Ewing

SCHOOL: Campolindo

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Guard

THE STAT LINE: Ewing's two strong games powered the Cougars into the Division III NorCal semifinals. She scored 32 points with seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in an opening-round win over Placer. She had 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists as the Cougars edged Christian Brothers-Sacramento 57-55.

Desire Finnie

SCHOOL: Ber- keley

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Forward

THE STAT LINE: Finnie, who helped Berkeley get past Kennedy-Sacramento 53-40 in the first round of the NorCal Division I playoffs, had 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Yellowjackets over McClymonds 54-44 in the second round.

BOYS

CODY SNIDER, Dougherty Valley, baseball, Sr. -- Snider pitched a shutout in the Wildcats' 2-0 win over Monte Vista at the DFAL-EBAL Challenge. Snider struck out six, walked none and allowed six hits.

CONAN TRUE, Moreau Catholic volleyball, Jr. -- In nonleague wins over Contra Costa Christian and College Prep, True combined for 24 kills, eight blocks, four assists and eight digs for the Mariners (4-0).

GIRLS

CANDACE COLLIER, Arroyo, softball, Sr. -- In nonleague wins over Casa Grande and American, Collier went a combined 6 for 7 with four home runs and five RBIs. She hit two home runs in each game.

SABRINA ENGELSTAD, Heritage, basketball, Sr. -- The Saint Mary's College-bound center earned double-doubles in back-to-back wins in the Division I NorCal playoffs. Engelstad had 18 points and 10 rebounds against San Benito-Hollister and 15 points and 14 rebounds against Lowell-San Francisco in the quarterfinals.
