THE STAT LINE: Chen shot 7-under 65 in the first round of the Mission Valley Athletic League tournament at Sunol Valley's Cypress Course. He had eagles on No. 9 and No. 10, both par-5s, and four birdies.

SPORT: Volleyball

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Outside hitter

THE STAT LINE: The 6-foot-8 senior signed a letter of intent with UCLA, then led the Phoenix to a pair of victories. Sprague had 42 kills and 14 blocks in two matches, including a 33-kill performance in a win over Berean Christian.

Lindsey Chalmers

SCHOOL: California

SPORT: Softball

YEAR: Senior

THE STAT LINE: Chalmers tossed a five-hitter with seven strikeouts as the Grizzlies topped Amador Valley 1-0 and snapped the Dons' 27-game East Bay Athletic League winning streak. Chalmers also shut out Foothill.

Sasha Wallace

SCHOOL: Castro Valley

SPORT: Track and field

YEAR: Senior

EVENTS: 100-meter hurdles, triple jump

THE STAT LINE: Wallace won two events in the high school invitational division of the Mt. SAC Relays. She won by .37 in the 100-meter hurdles with a wind-legal time (13.43 seconds) that is the fastest high school girls time in the nation for the event this season, according to DyeStat.com. Wallace also won the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, 4 inches, which is the fifth-best wind-legal mark in the nation this season.

BOYS

CHRISTIAN CARTER, San Leandro, track and field, Sr. -- Carter won the high school invitational division 400 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays with a time of 47.53 seconds, which ranks second in the state and 13th in the nation this season, according to DyeStat.com.

JOHN YORK, Acalanes, baseball, Sr. -- York threw a one-hitter in a 6-0 win over Dublin, striking out eight.

GIRLS

ZOE CONLEY, Salesian, softball, Jr. -- Conley threw a no-hitter and struck out 18 of the 22 batters she faced in a 7-0 victory over St. Mary's. She also struck out nine as the Pride defeated Pinole Valley 5-1.

SHAILA YODER, Diablo Valley College, swimming -- Yoder set state and national records in the 50-yard breaststroke at the Big 8 Conference championships. She was also a part of two winning relays and helped set a conference record in a relay.
