First team

RYAN GENN, Amador Valley, H, Sr. -- Genn was the offensive leader for the Dons, who won the East Bay Athletic League title and advanced to the North Coast Section Division I championship match. He finished with 398 kills and was a first-team All-EBAL selection.

JORDAN EWERT, Deer Valley, H, So. -- Ewert had a team record 544 kills at a school that has produced a number of exceptional players, including Jason Agopian, now at UC Irvine. He also had 213 digs and 51 aces and was a first-team all-Bay Valley Athletic League selection.

CORY FREDRICKSON, Foothill, H, Jr. -- Fredrickson led Foothill's resurgence as he finished the season with 551 kills and was a first-team All-EBAL selection.

ERIC SPRAGUE, Bentley, H, Sr. -- The UCLA-bound Sprague played a big role in Bentley's banner year, as the team won the Bay Counties League-East tournament title and reached the semifinals of the NCS Division III playoffs. Sprague had three matches this season with 25 kills or more.

MARCUS LEE, Deer Valley, MB, Sr. -- If he weren't headed to Kentucky for basketball, the 6-foot-9 Lee would have a bright future in volleyball. The most intimidating middle in the area was a big part of the Wolverines' title team as he had 185 kills and 51 blocks despite missing time because of basketball obligations and injuries.

DERRICO KWA, Deer Valley, S, Sr. -- The East Bay's Player of the Year had a phenomenal season. He set a school record with 1,274 assists and had 175 kills as he led the Wolverines to 42 wins, an NCS Division I title and an appearance in the NorCal title game.

JOE WORSLEY, Campolindo, S, So. -- Worsley, who can jump set from anywhere, was the Diablo Foothill Athletic League MVP as he finished with 478 assists this season.

BRYAN LEE, Campolindo, L, Sr. -- Lee was one of only two seniors on a Cougars team that won 42 matches and captured DFAL, NCS and NorCal titles. If he got to a ball, it was normally a perfect pass, as he had 236 digs. He could also set if the Cougars offense ever broke down.
