De La Salle at Serra-San Mateo, Sept. 7, 1 p.m. -- The Spartans should be challenged by the state-ranked Padres as the two teams meet for the first time since 2010. Serra nearly ended De La Salle's winning streak against Northern California teams in 2008 before the Spartans pulled out a 29-28 win.

Campolindo at El Cerrito, Sept. 20, 7 p.m. -- The projected top teams from the DFAL and TCAL-Rock Division renew their rivalry in what could be a preview of a North Coast Section Division III playoff game. El Cerrito edged Campolindo 16-14 last season as the Gauchos went on to a 13-1 season.

San Ramon Valley at California, Oct. 25, 7 p.m. -- California and San Ramon Valley shared the EBAL title last season, and things figure to be about as competitive between the two teams in October. California beat San Ramon Valley 41-38 in one of the more thrilling games of the 2012 campaign.

Pittsburg at Freedom, Oct. 25, 7 p.m. -- Defense took the night off when these two teams met last season, as Freedom beat host Pittsburg 49-48 and went on to win the BVAL title. Falcons running back Joe Mixon should be tested by a physical Pirates squad.

Concord at Clayton Valley Charter, Nov. 1, 7 p.m. -- Bitter rivals battle for ClayCord Cup and possibly the DVAL crown. Concord will be looking for redemption after two losses last season to Clayton Valley, including a 27-point setback in the NCS Division II playoffs.
