DUBLIN -- Jojuan Carrington and Milan Moses turned in big games for the Dublin High girls basketball team, which earned a 58-48 victory over Bethel-Vallejo in the first round of the CIF Division II Northern regional playoffs on Wednesday.

Moses scored nine of her 13 points in a 11-1 run by the Gaels, turning a four-point lead into a 27-13 advantage late in the second quarter.

Carrington would do her damage after the half, scoring 19 of her game-high 21 points.

"We wanted to get the lead early by taking good shots," Carrington said. "We were able to continue to get good looks and stay ahead."

Angelina Warlich's 3-pointer put Dublin up by 16 points in the fourth quarter, but Ajanee Rankins' third 3-point shot of the night would pull the Jaguars within 10.

The Gaels however, would keep looking to Carrington, who hit on a variety of inside moves and jump shots to keep the margin at double digits.

Rankins led Bethel with 18 points while Serena Santos and La'Nia Adams chipped in with 13 and 12 respectively.
