THE STAT LINE: The 6-foot-4 Banks scored 14 points, including four of the Pilots' first eight points that put them ahead to stay, in a 57-32 victory over Renaissance Academy-Altadena in the Division V state championship game. Banks, who was 7 for 9 from the field, also grabbed seven rebounds for the Pilots.
POSITION: Left-handed pitcher
THE STAT LINE: In a Diablo Foothill Athletic League game between two defending North Coast Section champions, Ladrech tossed a gem to lead the Cougars to a 3-0 win over Acalanes. The Cal-bound lefty allowed just three hits, struck out 12 and walked none as he pitched his second consecutive shutout.
SPORT: Track and field
EVENTS: 100, 200 meters
THE STAT LINE: Smith-Barnett won both the 100 and 200 meters at the Oakland Invitational Relays at Cal's Edwards Stadium. During light rain in the 100, she ran an impressive time of 12.12 seconds (no wind reading), and was first in the 200 in 25.73.
POSITION: Catcher/first base
THE STAT LINE: Zehr continued her hot start by going 4 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs in a win over Monte Vista, and she belted a three-run home run in a 3-1 victory over San Ramon Valley. She entered the week with a .681 batting average.
CONNOR BLICK, San Ramon Valley, golf, Sr. -- Blick shot a 1-under 33 at Crow Canyon Country Club and a 3-under 33 at Wente Vineyards to lead the Wolves to East Bay Athletic League wins over De La Salle and Foothill. He was also second with a 2-over 73 at Shadow Lakes to help San Ramon Valley to second as a team at the Freedom Invitational.
JUSTIN MAHLEY, Hercules, baseball, So. -- Mahley was 3 for 3 with two doubles and a run scored in the Titans' 3-1 victory over St. Joseph Notre Dame in Tri-County Athletic League play.
JASAIAH GHOLSTON, Foothill, softball, Sr. -- She tossed complete-game wins over California and Carondelet in EBAL action to improve her record to 5-0. Gholston fired a seven-hit shutout against the Cougars and a four-hitter against the Grizzlies.
BRENNA LOPEZ, San Lorenzo, softball, Jr. -- Lopez had a no-hitter and four strikeouts in a 10-0 five-inning West Alameda County Conference victory over Tennyson.
