THE STAT LINE: In only his third 800-meter race ever, Prowes finished second with a North Coast Section-leading time of 1 minute, 53.63 seconds at the Sacramento Meet of Champions invitational session. He also anchored the Titans' 1600 relay team to a victory in 3:17.80. Prowes' 400 split was 48.43.

Casey Soltis

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Outfielder/pitcher

THE STAT LINE: Soltis, who has signed with Oregon, led the surging Matadors to wins over San Ramon Valley and Foothill, going 5 for 7 with two triples, a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs.

Zoe Conley

SCHOOL: Salesian

SPORT: Softball

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Pitcher

THE STAT LINE: The Cal State Northridge-bound Conley fired a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts and also hit a solo home run as the Pride defeated St. Mary's 4-0 in a Tri-County Athletic League game. She also struck out 12 in a 6-1 victory over St. Patrick-St. Vincent. Conley went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI in the victory.

Mecca McGlaston

EVENTS: 100 hurdles, 200

THE STAT LINE: McGlaston won the 100-meter hurdles at the Sacramento Meet of Champions invitational session, lowering her NCS-leading time to 13.99. McGlaston finished second in the 200 in 25.68 seconds.

BOYS

JEFFREY KERSTEN, Pinole Valley, baseball, Jr. -- Kersten threw a perfect game for 62/3 innings and finished with a one-hitter, six strikeouts and no walks in a 5-0 victory over St. Mary's. He also drove in a run. In a 1-0 victory over El Cerrito, Kersten drove in the game-winning run in the first inning, and in a 4-2 win over Albany that clinched the Tri-County Athletic League-Rock Division title, he was 1 for 3 with a run scored.

JACOB SOLOMON, Dublin, golf, Jr. -- Solomon shot a 3-under 69 to earn medalist honors in the Diablo Foothill Athletic League tournament at Lone Tree Golf Course in Antioch, leading the Gaels to their sixth consecutive league team title.

GIRLS

MICHAELA BURPEE, James Logan, softball, Jr. -- Burpee went 5 for 5 with three RBIs in the Colts' 16-7 victory over Newark Memorial. She also was 2 for 3 in a 4-2 win over the Cougars earlier last week.

KELSEY LEONARD, Diablo Valley College, swimming, Fr. -- The former Las Lomas High standout won three individual events to help the Vikings claim the CCCAA state championship. In addition to setting a state record in the 200-yard freestyle, she also won the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly and was on two medley relay teams that set state records.
