Pittsburg at California, Friday, 7 p.m. -- What better way to kick off the season than with a matchup between the defending BVAL and EBAL champions. These teams split two games last season, with California prevailing 31-17 in the NCS Division I semifinals. Both teams are projected league champs again.
James Logan vs. San Leandro at Burrell Field, Sept. 5, 7 p.m. -- A pair of Division I-bound quarterbacks will square off in a game that could have a big impact come NCS seeding time. Christian Leota (UC Davis) of Logan and San Leandro's Stephen Johnson (bound for UCLA as an athlete) should both be entertaining to watch.
San Ramon Valley at Foothill, Sept. 26, 7 p.m. -- If you're looking for Division I prospects, this EBAL opener has them. Foothill's Isaiah Langley (USC) and Kyle Kearns (SMU) and San Ramon Valley's Dru Samia (Oklahoma) and J.J. Koski will all be on the field in a game that should help decide the EBAL champion.
Servite-Anaheim at De La Salle, Sept. 27, 7:30 p.m. -- In what is shaping up to be one of the Spartans' toughest schedules ever, this game might be the most challenging of all. Servite is ranked No. 12 in the nation by MaxPreps.com (De La Salle is No. 11 in the same poll), and the Friars have a star QB in Oregon commit Travis Waller.
Clayton Valley Charter at Concord, Oct. 24, 7 p.m. -- The 2013 edition of the ClayCord Cup ended up being one of the most entertaining games of the year with the Eagles hanging on for a one-point win. With both teams returning many of their top players, this year's rematch could be another instant classic and decide the DVAL champion.
