OAKLAND -- A 22-year-old San Francisco rapper was identified by police on Wednesday as the man shot to death in downtown Oakland.

Keith L. Head, whose rap name was K.O. Da Bandit, was shot about 10:21 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 13th Street and Broadway, according to police.

Investigators haven't determined why Head was in downtown Oakland or why he was shot. No suspects have been arrested. BART authorities shut down the 12th Street station after the shooting and stopped trains to make sure the gunman was not hiding there.

The death is the 30th homicide in Oakland so far this year.
