OAKLAND -- Investigators have identified a man wanted in connection with the killing of a 48-year-old Oakland man outside an East Oakland apartment complex last Saturday night.ï»¿
Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Gary Shea, a 50-year-old man who is 5 foot 6, 160 pounds with brown eyes, medium dark curly hair and possible facial hair.
Corey Prentice was visiting a friend at the complex in the 4800 block of Daisy Street, a few blocks from the Mills College campus, when he got into an verbal argument with another man outside the complex.
Police said the two then got into a physical fight and then Prentice was shot. He died later Saturday night at Highland Hospital, police said. It was not clear Wednesday if Shea is the man who argued with Prentice. The shooter left before police arrived.
Homicide investigator Leo Sanchez said police don't know what the argument was over and that no arrests have been made.
