The Contra Costa County Building Inspection Division has released a series of photographs showing the Walnut Avenue home of Phillip and Nancy Garrido.
The photographs depicted were taken by Contra Costa County building inspectors who examined the home at the request of the Sheriff's Office.
Inspectors determined that the house was unsafe after finding the carport and yard area contained dilapidated structures with hazardous wiring, garbage, refuse, non-working vehicles, and other rubbish, as well as an open septic hole and a toilet that was not connected to a sewer or septic system.
The house has been declared a public nuisance and the registered owner, Phillip Garrido's mother Patricia Franzen, has been given notice to clean up the home, or the county will clean it up at her expense. Franzen no longer lives in the home and was last known to be at a convalescent home in Antioch.
