Advance registration now for St. Patty's
Organizers of the St. Patrick's Day festival are taking reservations for some of the events being held March 15 through 17.
Tickets for the annual Green and White dinner and dance gala, held 6 p.m. March 15 at the Dublin Senior Center, will be sold only in advance. For details, call Carol Satterthwaite at 925-829-3657. Tickets are $60 each for the gala, which welcomes guests from Dublin's sister city, Bray, Ireland.
Registration for the Shamrock 5K fun run and walk, held 8:30 a.m. March 17, is available online at www.active.com. The deadline to enter is March 13. The price is $25 per participant or $60 for a family of three. For details, call 925-556-4500.

Dublin bicycle plans Feb. 28 meeting topic
A public workshop on the city's bicycle and pedestrian master plan will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Dublin Library, 200 Civic Plaza.
Dublin is updating its 2007 master plan, which describes priorities for city investment in trails, bicycle lanes, and other transportation improvements for people traveling by foot or by bike.

Free home energy forum to explain about rebates
Pleasanton and Energy Upgrade California of Alameda County will co-host a free home energy forum on Feb. 28.
The event will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the city's operations service center, 3333 Busch Road. Those attending will learn about rebates available on home energy-efficiency upgrades and can speak with local participating contractors. Energy Upgrade California is a statewide program that offers incentives to homeowners who complete certain energy-saving home improvements on single-family homes.

March gala to mark senior center's 20 years
The Pleasanton Senior Center will celebrate its 20th anniversary during a gala weekend March 2 and 3.
It begins with class demonstrations and exhibits at 10 a.m. on the Saturday, followed by a skit performed by the Senior Players. There will be a free barbecue lunch that day for visitors ages 50 and older. Local dignitaries are expected to speak. Lunch tickets are available now on a first-come-first-served basis at the center, 5353 Sunol Blvd.
The weekend, the theme for which is Celebrating the Past and Embracing the Future, will wind up on the Sunday with a free tea dance from 2 to 4 p.m. with live music by The Cool Tones.
