LIVERMORE -- A Livermore man suspected of fatally shooting his 28-year-old former friend was extradited back to Alameda County and arraigned Monday, police said.
Jacob Kober, 24, of Livermore, was arrested in Oregon Jan. 16 in connection with the shooting death of Kenneth Robert Ogden on Dec. 29, 2012, Officer Traci Rebiejo said.
Kober, who took off to Oregon after the shooting, was arrested in Springfield and remained in the custody of the Lane County Sheriff's Department for two months before returning to Alameda County to face charges.
Ogden's body was discovered the morning of Dec. 29 by a man who lived on Galaxy Court in Livermore, who saw him lying in the grass alongside the Springtown Golf Course fairway and neighboring bicycle paths. A woman jogging on the golf course yelled to the man for help, police said, and Ogden was later pronounced dead of multiple gunshot wounds.
While police would not speak to the nature of the relationship between Kober and Ogden, a YouTube video surfaced shortly after Ogden's death showing the two men sitting side by side, smoking marijuana together while rapping for the camera.
Kober said in his arraignment that he has chosen to hire his own private attorney, Rebiejo said. He will appear in court March 25 at the Hayward Hall of Justice.
