Eagle Scout -- Alexander Michael Engberg of Troop 803 was awarded Eagle Scout honors on April 20 at Oak Hill Community Center in Alamo. For his Eagle Scout project, he collected food at Safeway in Alamo and letters from students at Los Cerres Middle School and with the help of Delta Nu Psi Alex packaged and sent this overseas to our troops in Afghanistan. He is the son of Melinda and Kenneth Engberg, of Alamo, and a senior at Monte Vista High School in Danville.
Eagle Scout -- Ryan Means became an Eagle Scout on April 20. For his Eagle project, he collected more than 1,200 pounds of food for the Contra Costa Food Bank. His Court of Honor was held at the Oak Hill Park Community Center in Alamo. He is the son of Karen and Don Means, of Danville and is a senior at The Athenian School.
Eagle Scout -- Scout Master Steve Giampaoli, of Troop 803, presented Tyler Christopher Brecke with his Eagle Scout award at his Court of Honor on April 20 at the Oak Hill Community Center in Alamo. For Brecke's Eagle community service project, he organized a collection of toys and supplies for the military service dogs stationed in the Middle East. He worked with veterinary offices, local country clubs and high schools and did a neighborhood drive to collect more than 1,500 items. He is the son of Leah and Chris Brecke, of Danville, and a senior at Monte Vista High School in Danville.
Eagle Scout -- Bryan Fowler Hirsch, of Alamo, became an Eagle Scout on April 20. For his Eagle Scout project, he reconfigured an existing space in order to accommodate more volunteers at the Contra Costa Humane Society. He is the son of Dale and Lawrence Hirsch, of Alamo, and a senior at Monte Vista High School in Danville.
Army National Guard Warrant Officer 1 Leo J. Tocchini has graduated from the Warrant Officer Candidate School at Fort Rucker, Ala. He is the son of Joseph Towey, of Danville, and a 2000 graduate of Monte Vista High School.
