CONCORD -- More than 1,500 customers are without power in Concord, marking the second time today that residents in Contra Costa County were without electricity -- and a busy day for PG&E, with gas leaks forcing evacuations in Alamo and Oakland.

The outage was reported around 4:55 p.m., according to PG&E, with an estimated time of restoration slated for roughly 8:15 p.m.

Traffic lights in the area of Cowell and Ygnacio Valley roads, along Cowell, Clayton and West roads are out, according to police.

It is unknown what caused the outage.

Earlier Wednesday, a power line knocked down during a traffic collision in Danville resulted in roughly 50 people losing power and forced the closure of Diablo Road. A construction crew in Alamo struck a gas line Wednesday afternoon, forcing the evacuation of a central business district, and a driver struck a home in Oakland several hours later, causing another gas leak.
