LIVERMORE -- In addition to a walk-through Nativity at Living Bethlehem being offered this week, Livermore visitors can also check out the drive-through Nativity offered each year at Trinity Church.
This is their 22nd season. The "Through Mary's Eyes" story is set up as six different scenes with live actors and animals in the church parking lot. Visitors drive through the presentation in their own cars, listening to the story and music on their radios. The church estimates that it gets about 2,000 visitors each year.
The drive-through story will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Trinity Church, 557 Olivina Ave. in Livermore.
Organizers say it takes 800 volunteers to put on each year's free shows, with members of the congregation doing everything from acting to working on lighting and props, traffic control, greeting guests and acting as interpreters for the deaf.
Interpreters for the deaf are available from 7 to 8:15 p.m. each night, and Spanish translation is available for each show.
