Dimond forum on propositions Oct. 4
The League of Women Voters of Oakland will present "Pros and Cons" about local and state propositions at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Dimond Branch Library, 3565 Fruitvale Ave. in the Dimond District.
This presentation will review 10 state and three local propositions that are on the Nov, 6 general election ballot. This forum, which is being hosted by the Dimond Improvement Association, will be open to the public.

Volunteers sought to survey city parks
The Oakland Parks Coalition is seeking volunteers on Oct. 6 to help conduct surveys of the more than 120 parks in the city of Oakland as part of "Love Your Parks Day."
Volunteers are asked to go to the Lakeside Park Garden Center, 666 Bellevue in the Ebell Room at 8:30 a.m. Refreshments will be served and teams of people will be formed. A short survey training will be held and then each team will have from three to five parks to survey. Teams will report back to the garden by noon or earlier.
