Alameda County homeowners and landlords have until April 10 to pay the second installment of their 2012-12 property taxes, originally due Feb. 1, or face a 10 percent penalty. But this year they can pay using their iPhone or iPad, in addition to the county's website.
The mobile ACPropertyApp released by the Alameda County Assessor and Treasurer-Tax Collector gives users access to assessment information, property tax details, parcel maps, and views of properties through Google Street View. Users can search for any property in Alameda County, by parcel number or address. They can also see properties on a map, contact county staff, save a list of properties and check later to see changes.
The same 2.5 percent convenience fee apply whether you use the app, pay online or by phone.
The mobile property app is available on iTunes and the website www.acgov.org/treasurer.
