SAN RAMON -- One person was rushed to the hospital Wednesday morning after a woman crashed her car into a San Ramon hair salon, fire officials said.
Fire crews responded at 10 a.m. to the Awe-Dacious hair salon at 2205A San Ramon Valley Blvd. after a caller reported a car had plowed through the building's facade, said Kim French, spokeswoman for the San Ramon Valley Fire District.
When firefighters arrived, they found the entire car inside the small hair salon, with a woman trapped inside by a large amount of debris.
Between five to 10 people were inside the salon at the time of the crash, and one was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, French said. Two people were evaluated at the scene, and the driver, who was alone in her car when she crashed, was uninjured.
While officials did not immediately know what caused the woman to drive her car through the building, French said drugs and alcohol were not immediately thought to be a factor.
"We have no reason to believe at this point it was anything but an accident," French said.
