Q Will police do any traffic control at Levi's Stadium for 49ers games? Even crappy old Candlestick had cops directing traffic. I did not see one cop at any intersection at the Earthquakes game.

A And ...

Q It would have been helpful if the parking attendants on Patrick Henry and Democracy had been directing traffic instead of chatting with their backs to the traffic mess. ... I asked a policeman why he wasn't helping guide drivers through jammed intersections. He just shrugged.

A No shrugs this weekend, hopefully, when the 49ers host the Denver Broncos in their first game at Levi's Stadium. Police say you can expect to see more officers directing traffic. They are needed because so many fans will have no idea where to park, though directions have been mailed to season ticket holders.

But fans biking to the game won't be happy.

Q We were surprised to see two Levi's employees standing in front of a closed gate blocking bicycle access from San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail to Levi's Stadium. They said the trail was closed due to security reasons. Is this going to be the case for all events at the stadium? ... The Levi's website suggests we take the bike trail to get to the stadium. They don't tell us that it will be closed on game days. BRILLIANT!

A Most likely, yes. The bike trail entrance is inside the security perimeter and will be closed and rerouted as late as possible for all 49er games and events expected to attract 20,000-plus fans. At least 100 feet is needed to secure an outer perimeter around the stadium as a security measure.

Q I noted that the VTA was pulling three-car trains after the soccer game. Why not three cars on the way in?

Jen Morales

A Two-car trains normally operate on the Mountain View to Winchester lines, as stations south of Diridon are limited to two cars because the platforms are shorter. So before a game, light rail riders will see a mix of two-car trains in regular, scheduled service and then "extra service" trains to supplement service to the stadium, most of which will be three-car trains.

Q I would like to thank Santa Clara police for preventing the entry of nonresidents into our residential complex at Lafayette and Calle de Primavera. We feared outsiders would occupy all our parking spaces, block our driveways and leave garbage behind.

Robert Pantangco

Santa Clara

A Fans going to Sunday's game, be aware that no mercy will be shown to drivers trying to park in nearby residential areas where permits are required.

Q Levi's Stadium traffic should improve, since no problems were on the freeways and more trains will be added. Is anything perfect on the first try?

Bob B.

A Never.
