PLEASANTON -- The City Council recognized 189 local companies for achieving 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 years of business in Pleasanton at a presentation at the council's meeting on Oct. 2.
"Pleasanton's quality of life is closely tied to the economic vitality of our business community, and we are honored to publicly recognize these businesses' milestones," said Economic Development Director Pamela Ott. "That diversity is what makes Pleasanton's business community as strong as it is."
The Small Business Administration reports that two-thirds of new employer establishments survive at least two years, 44 percent survive at least four years, and just 31 percent survive at least seven years, according a city of Pleasanton news release.
