OAKLAND -- Police are seeking information on two shootings in East Oakland on Sunday.

One shooting early Sunday sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand, police said. He was in stable condition Sunday afternoon.

The victim's name and age were not released.

Police were called to the 1700 block of 28th Avenue about 1:45 a.m. Sunday after reports of a shooting in the lower Fruitvale district.

Police did not yet have a motive in the shooting or any suspect information Sunday night.

In an unrelated incident, a person was shot about 3 p.m. Sunday near Bancroft Avenue and Richie Street, police said. Hospital officials reported the shooting to police at 5:11 p.m., said Oakland police spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson. The victim was treated and released. The victim's name and age were also not released.
