Spartans cruise in semifinals
The De La Salle High football team was firing on all cylinders in a 49-0 victory over Amador Valley in the North Coast Section Division I semifinals on Nov. 23. Tiapepe Vitale, Chris Williams and Das Tautalatasi powered the De La Salle running game while Michael Hutchings, Victor Egu, Andrew Buckley and Sumner Houston all had big games defensively to key the shutout.-- Stephanie Hammon
Strong finish for Knights
Freshman Chloe Hansel took 16th to lead the Las Lomas High girls cross country team to a solid seventh place finish at the California Interscholastic Federation Division III championships. The Knights, who also got solid performances from Megan Wenzel and Emma Hight, were the No. 2 team from Northern California in Division III. All of Las Lomas' scorers were underclassmen.-- Stephanie Hammon
Cougars continue season
The Campolindo High girls volleyball team advanced to the Northern California Division III regional final by topping Sacred Heart Cathedral-San Francisco 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-22 on Nov. 24. The Cougars' three senior captains, Annie Shurtz, Sophie Seiberth and Cassidy Abel, led the way. The top-seeded Cougars also defeated Shasta in three games in their opening round NorCal game.
