HAYWARD -- The birds are back in town.
A walk is planned for Dec. 2 along the Hayward shoreline to view some of the migratory waterfowl and shorebirds that flock to San Francisco Bay during the cool months.
Hayward Area Historical Society and the Hayward shoreline Interpretive Center have teamed up to host the walk along the mud flats and flooded salt ponds. The group will meet at the Eden Landing Ecological Reserve parking lot at Clawiter and Arden roads.
Those taking part are advised to dress warmly, wear good walking shoes and take binoculars if you have a pair. Registration is required; contact the historical society at 510-581-0223. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. No dogs are allowed.
