OAKLAND -- An Oakland police employee was beaten during a suspected home-invasion robbery in the Oakland hills Friday evening, police said.

Police said three suspects burst into the home on Reinhardt Drive, which runs alongside Highway 13, about 6 p.m. and found the man and his girlfriend at home.

Police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said some items were taken from the home, but she did not say what was stolen.

No arrests have been made.

The man, who is in his 20s, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Watson said. The man's girlfriend did not need medical attention.
