City cleanup needs volunteers on Saturday
Still looking to make a New Year resolution? Picking up trash and sprucing up city neighborhoods may fit the bill.
Antioch's monthly cleanup program will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday around a city park near Davison and Ashburton drives.
Those interested should meet at Harbour Park, 2600 Sunset Lane.
Volunteers will receive instructions at the site and cleanup equipment if necessary, Antioch police Capt. Steve McConnell said.
Police will facilitate the event but are not assigned to help because of staffing cuts.
Neighborhood cleanups, the 41st held in Antioch since the program started, are scheduled for the first Saturday of each month, weather permitting.
