OAKLAND -- The families of two of seven victims of last year's shooting rampage at Oikos University have filed wrongful-death suits against the school.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the suits were filed Thursday in Alameda County Superior Court on behalf of 23-year-old Grace Eunhea Kim of Union City and 21-year-old Lydia Sim of Hayward.

Defendant One Goh is charged with seven counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder in the April 2 attack at the Christian university. He has pleaded not guilty. Both suits name Oikos but not Goh, who a judge deemed was mentally incompetent to stand trial.

The suits say Oikos should have known that Goh "would pose a serious danger" due to disagreements university staff had with him. He had dropped out of the school's nursing program, citing problems with other students.
