PLEASANTON -- Enjoy a free jazz concert Feb. 3 at the Pleasanton Library, 400 Old Bernal Ave.

In honor of Black History Month, the Dan Zemelman Quartet will perform the music of black composers such as Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Horace Silver, Woody Shaw, John Coltrane and Miles Davis. The concert begins at 2 p.m.

According to a library press release, "Zemelman has played with jazz great, bassist Richard Davis, recorded with blues legend John Lee Hooker, performed as a Jazz Ambassador to India courtesy of the U.S. State Department, and headlined Yoshi's jazz club three times."
