SAN RAMON -- The city is offering a free astronomy night at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at Old Ranch Park, 1000 Vista Monte Drive.

Participants will be able to see the moons of Jupiter, star clusters, spiral galaxies and gaseous nebulas using the telescopes of the Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society.

Families are encouraged to attend. Participants should wear warm clothes and bring a flashlight. Hot cocoa will be served.

The night is part of the "Thank You San Ramon" program -- a series of free events described in a press release as the city's way to thank residents for making San Ramon "a wonderful place to live, work and play."
