Four tied atop EBAL girls soccer scoring
Four girls soccer players, two apiece from Amador Valley and San Ramon Valley, entered the week tied for first place in scoring in the East Bay Athletic League. The Dons' Andie Boehm and Kiana Rastrou and Wolves' Alexa Vandevanter and Kristen Pavlick each had five goals in EBAL play through Jan. 24. Morgan Idso and Pavlick led the Wolves overall with eight goals apiece entering the week. Granada's Katie Lortie leads the league with four game-winning goals.-- Matt Schwab
Monte Vista turns tables on Grizzlies
The Monte Vista High boys basketball team walloped host California 77-52 on Jan. 25, avenging the Mustangs' lone league loss this season. Trevor John had a game-high 20 points to lead the Mustangs, who improved to 16-4 overall and 7-1 in the EBAL, and Spencer Rust added 19 points. Shane Haley led Cal with 13 points.-- Matt Schwab
Wolves' boys soccer defense holds firm
The San Ramon Valley High boys soccer team made it 3 for 3 with a 1-0 win over Granada on Jan. 26, giving the Wolves three consecutive shutout wins in league play. The Wolves bested California 2-0 on Jan. 22 and Foothill 4-0 on Jan. 24.-- Matt Schwab
